The 2026 conference will be held as the 24th APacCHRIE Conference and the 17th APacCHRIE Youth Conference at Ritsumeikan Future Plaza, located on Ritsumeikan University’s Osaka Ibaraki Campus. The conference will take place from May 28 to 31, 2026, and will be co-hosted by Ritsumeikan University Business School and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The First APacCHRIE Conference to Be Held in Japan
According to an announcement by the Japan National Tourism Organization, this will be the first time that the APacCHRIE Conference is held in Japan.
At the APacCHRIE Board Meeting held in Seoul, South Korea, in May 2024, Osaka was officially selected as the host city for the 2026 conference. The announcement also stated that approximately 350 participants from around 17 countries, mainly from Asia, are expected to attend.
The gathering of international researchers, educators, and practitioners involved in tourism, hotel management, and hospitality education in Osaka represents a significant opportunity for Japan’s MICE, tourism, and hospitality industries.
